The Hosting BC program was originally developed as a partnership between 2010 Legacies Now, Tourism BC and The Province of BC and is a legacy of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. In 2010 the management and operation of the Hosting BC program was transferred to the BC Games Society in partnership with the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation (Tourism BC).

HOSTINGBC.CA
HostingBC.ca is a comprehensive website showcasing British Columbia’s readiness to host sport events. This online database has a complete inventory of both summer and winter sport facilities and includes photo galleries, technical venue information, local support services and key contacts in each community.  The BC Games Society is working in partnership with the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation (Tourism BC) to promote and expand the site's reach and value to communities and events looking to host in BC.  Visit the Hosting BC website.

GRANT PROGRAM 
The Province of BC through the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development invests in event hosting and the Hosting BC program to facilitate sport, economic, social and community development.  This builds on the succes of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, maintaining BC's profile and reputation as an exceptional major event host.  Since 2004, close to $3.7 million has been invested in 462 sport events in communities across BC. 

Hosting BC funds International, National, Western Canadian, Provincial and Regional level sport events. Events must be sanctioned by the appropriate Provincial or National Sport Organization and support the Canadian Sport for Life implementation plan for the sport.

Recent Funding
December 2010 Intake - Funding provided to 69 events representing 45 sports and 28 communities.  
April 2011 Intake - Funding provided to 61 events representing 37 sports
December 2011 Intake - Funding provided to 46 events representing 37 sports

Final Reports
The final report from successful recipients is due 60 days after the conclusion of the event.
