From Past Host Community Volunteers...
We were all very proud of the accomplishments of hosting the BC Winter Games yet, it would not be possible without the BC Games Society team. What we do with the tools and suggestions you provide is what makes these Games go. Please know that we will always be fans and supporters of the BC Games.”

The BC Games was a great experience for me - much bigger than I imagined and challenged me like I’ve never been challenged before. The Games allowed me to witness a community coming together to proudly show off what we may take for granted on a daily bases. Knowing it was so well worth the effort in the smiling faces of the athletes who participated as they Dreamed, Challenged and Achieved.

The 2010 BC Winter Games in Terrace were a united effort and were the largest volunteer recruitment effort in the community’s history. People young and old throughout the entire region worked together for a common goal. It was a life changing event and has built long term relationships and friendships that continue to benefit the community. Youth in the north were inspired by the Games and are now actively pursuing their sport goals.

Over the past 20 years, Kelowna has worked hard to develop and improve facilities for sport. Hosting the 2008 BC Summer Games provided the community the opportunity to expand and enrich the human element infrastructure which ensured that those facilities could provide better sporting environments for coaching and volunteerism. More than bricks and boards, this legacy will be enduring.

From a Former Board Member...
The BC Games are an important stepping stone towards the Canada Games and ultimately the Olympic Games. Learning to complete for a team beyond just your sport and focus while many events are occurring is imperative to an athlete's success. The excitement of my first Games is something I will never forget and the lessons I learned made me a better athlete.

From a Corporate Partner...
Jazz is extremely proud to support the BC Games Society. We have been involved, along with our predecessor AirBC, for the past 21 years, and it is indeed gratifying to be associated with an organization such as this that encourages excellence and brings together people and communities year after year. We look forward to continued involvement in the years to come!

From Participants...
The BC Summer Games was something that I had never experienced before; the combination of athletic and social opportunities for people my own age. I made many friends from all over BC. When I was called to receive the W.R. Bennett Award I was shocked and thrilled to be recognized in front of so many of my fellow athletes.

2010 BC Summer Games Athlete and W.R. Bennett Award for Athletic Excellence Recipient
The experience the kids get through the BC Summer Games takes them to the next level. For most of these athletes it’s their first opportunity to play against the best kids in the province and gives them a measuring stick of where they are at and where they want to go.

Basketball Coach, Vancouver-Squamish (Zone 5)
I have been participating at the BC Winter Games since 1981 and have yet to be disappointed with how the Games are conducted. The BC Winter Games are a wonderful experience for our athletes, coaches and officials.
