The Sport Branch in the Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development Sport Branch is seeking enthusiastic, experienced people to serve as volunteer Team BC Mission Staff members for the 2013 Canada Summer Games. As part of Team BC, you will lead in helping BC’s athletes have the experience of a lifetime at Canada’s premier multi-sport event. Applications are being accepted to join the Mission Team, led by Rob Needham (Chef de Mission), Michelle Collens (Assistant Chef de Mission) Judy Joseph-Black (Assistant Chef de Mission) and Marc Bowles (Sport Performance Director).
The 2013 Canada Summer Games will be held August 2 to August 17, 2013 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. The Canada Games are a national multi-sport competition with participation from every province and territory in Canada. Team BC athletes are the next generation of junior national and national team athletes. They are positive role models to British Columbians and inspire youth to be physically active and lead healthy lifestyles.
As part of the Mission Team, you will work to ensure that all aspects of Team BC’s preparation, including athlete and coach services and support (uniforms, media relations, newsletter, registration, logistics, etc) are in place for successful team performances. This is an opportunity to play a key role in BC’s sport development system.
