The BC Games Society is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based society whose role is to provide an opportunity for the development of athletes, coaches, and officials in preparation for higher levels of competition in a multi-sport event which promotes interest and participation in sport and sporting activities, individual achievement, and community development.
As part of a systemic shift in sport delivery, the BC Games Society will have responsibility for the Team BC Program effective April 1, 2013. The Team BC program provides opportunities for athletes, coaches and mission staff to excel in an interprovincial multi-sport games environment. Team BC represents the best provincial athletes and coaches, BC's collective sport system, and the contribution to healthy, active lifestyles.
Accountable to the President and CEO, the successful candidate will work closely with colleagues and key volunteer groups to provide logistical support and leadership to Team BC participating in the Canada Winter, Canada Summer, and Western Canada Summer Games.
The Operations Manager will have proven experience in the co-ordination, preparation, and delivery of multi-sport Games on a provincial and national level; superior organizational skills and understanding of computer software programs, demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive working relations with external clients in a multi-party environment, and the ability to work well with people. This position works closely with provincial sport organizations and coaches, corporate partners, Games staff and volunteers. Experience in supervising volunteers, issues management and problem solving skills; demonstrated skills in developing, preparing and delivering oral and written communications; financial management experience, a good understanding of the Team BC Program, Canada Games and Western Canada Summer Games movements and the provincial and national amateur sport system are important to this position.

Travel to Canada Games, Western Canada Summer Games and BC Games communities is a significant component of the position.
