 BC Games Alumni Minimize

The BC Winter and BC Summer Games are a vital part of the development of athletes, coaches, and officials.  This first multisport experience is a stepping stone towards provincial and national teams at competitions like the Canada Games, World Championships and ultimately the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

BC Games Alumni have gone on to represent Canada at the most elite levels of sport.  We are proud to have been part of the journey for World Champions, Olympians, Paralympians, Stanley Cup Champions, and Major League Baseball MVP’s to name a few.

“The BC Summer Games was the point in my career when I realized that I had the potential to go further.  It wasn't till soon after that that I decided to switch from being a summer swimmer to training all year round.  It is clear that I wouldn't have noticed my own potential without the BC Summer Games.”   Brent Hayden, Olympian – Swimming, 1998 BC Summer Games

“I fell in love with the sport of cycling and it’s what I have done ever since I was 12 years old at the BC Summer Games.  My most memorable experience of the BC Games was standing on the podium but also hanging out with friends and the other athletes.”

“I remember being at the BC Games.  The Opening Ceremony was such a big deal.  For me it was a mini Olympics.  If you can keep picturing the Olympics over the next few days, then you are good…because many of you be there one day.”
