The application process for the 2010 BC Olympic & Paralympic Youth Leadership Academy has been extended to January 15, 2010.
Applications must include all required elements to be considered and must be received no later than January 15, 2010. Please be sure to include your name on all parts of your submission.
Applicants must be in grade 9 or 10 and provide the following:
- Completed Application Form (download or print form here: PDF version -- to downlaod MS Word version, the click the link and save the file to your computer then open the file in Word - MS Word version)
Be sure to have the application signed by a parent or guardian AND a school official.
- A person statement explaining why you wish to attend the Academy.
- Two (2) letters of reference. Your references should indicate how they believe you will contribute to the 2010 Academy and subsequently to sport leadership in your community or school.
- Your answers to the following questions:
- What leadership experience have you had at school or in your community?
- What sport activities have you participated in during the past four years? Were they team or individual sports? At your school or in your community?
- What are some of your other interests (i.e. art, drama, music, volunteer work, etc.)?
Note that participation is limited to 50 delegates.
The fee for the Academy (including sessions and materials, travel, accommodation, and meals at the Academy) is $150. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Please see the application form for details.
The Academy will be held in wheelchair accessible facilities.
