Volunteers Ready to Help Sign You Up. Volunteer Today!

The Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games will be held February 24-27. The community has come together with volunteers stepping up to take on leadership and Games-time roles. Two of these volunteers are Margo Jarman and Tiffany Campbell.

Tiffany Campbell is brand new to Vernon and the BC Games. She moved to be closer to family and the opportunity to volunteer has allowed her to meet an array of amazing individuals. She was a little concerned she would be in over her head in her role as Volunteer Management Chair for the Marketing Director, but Tiffany says that everyone has been super friendly and helpful. "At the end of the day we are all a team," said Tiffany, "and everyone is super excited for the Games! I cannot wait to see it all come together."

Margo Jarman (pictured above) is no stranger to the BC Games. This is the second time she has volunteered for the BC Winter Games; the first time was 20 years ago. For the 2022 Games she has taken on the position of Volunteer Management Chair for Sport. "The role is different than I expected," said Margo. "I am enjoying working with awesome volunteers and know we will make these Games great for these up and coming athletes."

Greater Vernon 2022 BC Winter Games word of the Games is pivot.  We have had to be flexible and ready to pivot a moments notice as things change with COVID-19 and Public Health Orders.

The Games are super important this year as it is the first major event since the beginning of the pandemic. All reports indicate that the athletes are super excited. There will be 17 different sports held in and around Vernon. Participants will stay in nine schools in the area and will travel and eat in their Games Cohort. All Participants will be required to provide proof of vaccination.

Volunteers are needed in all areas from managing a check-in desk at the dorms, to helping serve meals, to assisting with medal presentations, to providing first aid. All volunteers will be required to provide proof of vaccination.

There is still time to volunteer and your community needs you. Join Tiffany and Margo and the others who have already signed upo and be part of this exciting opportunity to support youth sport!
