For anyone watching gymnastics for the first time, these young athletes made the sport seem effortless, but it was quite clear how much time and energy each participant had invested in preparation.

In 3rd place, going home with bronze medals in the Men’s Artistic Team competition was Zone 4; coming in second and bagging silver medals was Zone 5; the winner of the Men’s Artistic Team competition in the Kamloops 2018 BC Winter Games was Zone 3, excited to take home gold medals.

When asked how they felt, members of the Zone 3 team, Ethan Ikeda, Owen and Connor Fielding and Blake Morfitt, responded, “It’s amazing! We have put a lot of hours into this competition; we are excited!”Dominating the Men’s Artistic All-Round category was Ethan Ikeda. Going home with the gold medal, Ethan’s finesse earned him first place in 4 categories out of 6. Ethan’s father once competed in the Olympics, this athlete made gymnastic seem like child’s play, he also said he would like to continue his career in gymnastics and compete in the Olympics like his dad.
