Position Description - Event Manager

The BC Games Society is seeking a highly motivated professional with outstanding interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of the BC sport system for the position of Event Manager. Significant experience in volunteer management is a key asset as well.

The successful candidate will have strong time-management skills, an appropriate combination of education and experience in sport and volunteer management, be proficient in various software applications, and able to travel year-round within BC.

Working conditions

 Skill requirements

  • relevant diploma or degree (eg.: sport admin, recreation, leadership)
  • event / project  management experience
  • strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • competency in a variety of software applications
  • efficient, effective and consistent team player
  • adaptable and flexible
  • creative problem solving
  • time management
  • out-going, people-oriented personality.
  • knowledge of provincial sport system an asset
  • demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • attention to detail.
  • ability to work effectively, under pressure and to tight deadlines
