National Volunteer Week is April 6-12 and we at the BC Games Society are proud to recognize and thank the thousands of volunteers who make the BC Winter and BC Summer Games such incredible events.

From our provincial Board of Directors, to Host Society volunteers, and Provincial Sport Organization volunteers, we are constantly amazed by the dedication and commitment of people in communities across British Columbia.

Did you know...

  • Over 1700 volunteers planned and staged the 2014 BC Winter Games
  • 2850 volunteers planned and staged the 2012 BC Summer Games
  • Volunteers prepare and serve over 32,000 meals at a BC Games
  • The age range of volunteers at the 2014 BC Winter Games was from 10-90+

The true impact of our volunteers is most accurately shown by the comments we receive from athletes.  The experiences they have at the BC Games is all thanks to the hundreds of hours that volunteers dedicate to ensure a high quality and memorable event.

Have a look at this video recognizing our volunteers and the incredible impact they have.
