Vancouver’s rising equestrian, Daria Rivera, won the bronze medal in today’s jumping competition at the BC Summer Games.

With over six years of riding experience, the Zone 5 representative continues to progress with her Oldenburg mare, Lavida.

Although Lavida and Daria have only had a 10-month long partnership, it is clear that they have a unique bond.

Rivera said she felt “a lot of pressure” heading into today’s show, as the competition was tough and the course was full of challenging jumps.

However, Rivera proved that she excels under pressure however when she completed a beautiful, clear round.

Rivera hopes for another clear round tomorrow, and will continue to compete this summer.
“I have three straight weeks of showing coming up,” she revealed.

Rivera will be seen next at Milner Downs followed by Thunderbird Show Park on the lower mainland in August.
