It was a clean sweep for the Zone 3 Boys at the Nanaimo Golf Club on Saturday, as athletes from Surrey, Chilliwack and Langley topped the podium.

Sy Lovan from Surrey kept a stranglehold on first place throughout the tournament, finishing with a blistering two-day combined score of 138, ending up at 7-under par to take the Gold medal.

The 16-year-old who has been golfing since he was three, says he has aspirations to go professional down the road and would love to secure a scholarship in the future.

Although none of the winners had played this course before, it certainly proved to be lucky for the trio from Fraser Valley. All three raved about the facilities at the Nanaimo Golf Club, stating that the “view was absolutely gorgeous.”

Mitchell Thiessen from Chilliwack took home the Silver medal, finishing with a two-day combined score of 148, and Jess Lee from Langley captured the Bronze medal with a final score of 149.
