Saturday proved to be golden for Victoria’s synchronized swimming duo, Kaitlyn Aylesworth and Marina Hurst, who took home the top spot in the Duets Level 2/3 competition. The partners had a great showing, achieving a personal best at the Games, finishing with a final score of 60.8333.

The pair, who have only been swimming together for two years, said that they hope their successes continue on at the national level. “It was our first year competing at the nationals this year,” said Aylesworth. “Our goal for next year is to place a bit higher on the scale – we are hoping we aren’t dead last,” joked Hurst.

Duet teams from the Thompson-Okanagan managed to capture both the Silver and Bronze medals in the Level 2/3 competition. Cassandra Ferguson and Megan Kerr, took home the Silver medal with a score of 57.1504, and Megan Allan and Taylor Baxtor won the Bronze with a score of 55.8245.
