Slavka Svancara and Zara Herbert shared a pair of golden smiles while standing atop the podium this Saturday, after winning the Level 4/5 Duet competition at the BC Summer Games. The pair dazzled the judges, earning an overall score of 64.0248 for their efforts.

The duo, who have only been swimming together as partners for one year, represent Vancouver-Squamish at the BC Games. Although Svancara resides in North Vancouver and Herbert hails from Vancouver, the pair met up everyday over the summer to train in preparation for the BC Games.  Both girls said they have “really enjoyed” their Games experience and “look forward to continuing on with their training as partners.”

Shaleigh Lachance and Cassandra Truss from Coquitlam earned the Silver medal with a score of 63.6250, with Claire Hein-Salvi from Burnaby and Grace MacDonald from Delta, finishing closely behind in third place, scoring 63.5868.
