The Board and Staff of the BC Games Society extend our sympathies to the family and friends of our sport collegue Gord May.

As the Executive Director for Coaches BC for over 20 years, Gord contributed to building a strong organization that supported coach education, awareness and recognition.  He was a great supporter of the BC Winter and BC Summer Games and helped to ensure that BC Games coaches had the certification necessary so that athletes had the best possible experience at the Games.  A strong supporter of mentorship programs, Gord helped initiate the Female Coach Mentor Apprentice program that has seen many young female coaches learn new skills through the BC Games.

Kelly Mann, President and CEO of the BC Games expressed, "Gord was a pillar in the provincial coaching community, and his legacy of coach education and certification will continue.  His passing came too soon but not before he left his mark on the sport community."

Gord was always smiling and positive and a great friend of the BC Games.  We will miss him.

The service for Gord is planned for Monday October 7th at 1 pm at McCall’s in Victoria.
