Speed skater Janie Green will be leaving Penticton with a heavier load, scooping up gold medals in the 500m, 1000m, 1,500m and the 3,000m points race.

The Mission athlete took the wins in stride after collecting her medals Sunday.

“I was really relaxed as a child, so Mom didn't think that I would get this far,” she said, adding that the provincials and qualifying for the Western Championships are next on her list.

In the 3,000m mixed points races Sunday, the U-14 Zone 4 Fraser River came out with gold ahead of Cariboo-Northeast. Fraser Valley took third place. In U-16 action, Fraser Valley captured gold, with Fraser River in second and Thompson-Okanagan in third.
