BC Games Society Celebrates Volunteers

In over 100 communities across the province, BC Games volunteers are working tirelessly to provide the opportunity for BC’s best developing athletes to compete at the BC Summer and BC Winter Games. The BC Games Society is proud to recognize the efforts of these volunteers during National Volunteer Week, April 18-24.

The BC Games Society is pleased to announce that Debbie Coulter of North Vancouver, BC is this year’s recipient of a Sport BC Presidents’ Award for outstanding volunteer commitment and dedication to sport.  Coulter was recognized on behalf of her work with the BC Games Society at the annual Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards.

W.R. Bennett Award for Athlete Excellence goes to Jordan Rosborough

A speed skater from Winfield, Jordan Rosborough, was presented the W.R. Bennett Award for Athletic Excellence by the Minister of Healthy Living and Sport, Ida Chong at the Closing Ceremony of the Terrace 2010 BC Winter Games.

CN makes donation to Dr. REM Lee Hospital Foundation

CN announced today that it has donated $15,000 to the Dr. R.E.M Lee Hospital Foundation to help purchase an infant and pediatric ventilator for the Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace.
