Fraser Valley's Elyse Hodel takes equestrian jumping gold

Fraser Valley's (Zone 3) Elyse Hodel, who hails from Surrey, took home the gold medal on Sunday’s equestrian jumping competition of the BC Summer Games in Nanaimo.

 

Although Hodel had “horse show nerves” this morning before competing, she managed to have a clear first round and an impressive jump-off with a time of 41.49 seconds.

Fort St. John triathlete a true original

Jessica Telizyn, representing Cariboo-North East (Zone 8) at the BC Summer Games in Nanaimo, decided last year that she would become a triathlete. An accomplished Irish dancer who enjoyed many successes in competitions throughout North America, Telizyn thought it would be neat to add triathlete to her growing resume.

The Fraser Valley (Zone 3) dominated the rugby field this weekend bring home two gold medals. The boys and girls fought their hardest and it worked. Not only did the girls work well together, but the boys have only been playing together for about a month.
