Georgia Ellenwood didn’t have to go far for her first major competition, but it served as a launching point which has taken her to countries around the world.

She was a 14-year-old track and field athlete when the BC Summer Games were held in the Township of Langley in 2010.

Soccer has been a lifelong journey for Abbotsford's Gavin Gill, and he's ready to take the next big step in that quest at the upcoming BC Summer Games.

Gill has been on the pitch since the age of four, when he donned a Timbits soccer jersey, but starting on July 22 he'll be representing the Fraser Valley at the Games.

A talented local foursome is hoping for a clean sweep in the beach volleyball ranks at the BC Summer Games.

MEI students Emma Gamache, Teagen Boughen, Ashley Huberts and Karissa Marazzi are all representing the Fraser Valley Zone at the Games, and they bring with them a ton of experience in the sport - both on the sand and the hardwood.

Mission rugby duo eye gold medal

The expectations are high for the Fraser Valley girls rugby team at the Abbotsford 2016 BC Summer Games later this month, and a pair of Mission players should be a big part of it.

Mission Secondary students Kyra Lipke and Kate Baker have joined forces with their Valley rivals in Langley and Abbotsford to put together a local super team to battle the best in the province.
