The Fraser River (Zone 4) boys soccer squad couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the 2016 BC Summer Games.

The squad dominated play from the opening whistle en route to a 5-0 victory over the North West (Zone 7) squad.

Fraser River’s attacking style of play kept their opponents on their heels for the entire contest.

“The boys performed the way we were looking for,” said Phillip Estacio, head coach of the Fraser River team.

He called the game a solid win and a great way to open the Games.

“It’s an attacking style and it’s just keep the ball moving Two touch, pass and move.”

The squad has little time to rest as they play their second game this afternoon at 2 pm against Vancouver-Coastal (Zone 5).

While it’s a fast pace, the coach said the players will learn a lot from the games.

“It’s a great experience for the boys, They’re having a blast.”

North West will be looking to bounce back when they play Vancouver Island-Central Coast (Zone 6) also at 2 pm.

In other boys soccer action, Vancouver Coastal came from behind to beat Vancouver Island-Central coast 2-1.
