BC Games and Team BC alumni step up

Penticton FOG

A chance to give out medals for curling at the BC Winter Games in Penticton next month is taking a local Penticton chef full circle.  When he was just 16, Stewart Glynes was on the sheet himself competing in the games and winning a gold medal with his rink.  He is now a proud supporter of the Games through his business and is looking forward to welcoming everyone to Penticton.

Two Team BC alumni who competed at the 2015 Canada Winter Games are stepping up to volunteer for the BC Winter Games.  Sisters Alexandra and Stephanie Rempe attend the Okanagan Hockey Academy and fondly remember their multi-sport Games experiences.  Both are volunteering their time to give back to the athletes starting their journey at these Games.

Alumni in action at Youth Olympic Games

YOG 2016

When the 2016 Youth Olympic Games kick off in Lillehammer, Norway on February 12, ten BC Games and Team BC alumni will be representing Team Canada.  The team includes 2014 W.R. Bennett Award winner and 2015 Canada Winter Games bronze medalist, Tyler Tardi of Surrey along with curling teammate Sterling Middleton of Fort St. John.  Competing in biathlon will be 2014 BC Winter Games alumna and 2015 Canada Winter Games gold medalist Tekarra Banser of Kelowna.
