President and CEO to conclude role at BC Games Society

After 26 years with the BC Games Society, 19 of them as the President and CEO, Kelly Mann has announced that he will conclude his role with the Society this fall.

During his time as CEO, Mann helped move the program to one of sport development, away from recreational involvement resulting in greater percentages of BC Games participants competing at Canada Games, and on national and Olympic and Paralympic teams. Since his November 1992 hiring, Mann was directly involved in eighty-five provincial Games involving several thousand participants and volunteers.

The process to select a new President and CEO has begun, with applications being accepted until June 18, 2018.  More information on this career opportunity can be found at BCGAMES.ORG.

Local artist releases official BC Summer Games song

After months of hard work and inspiration, local singer/songwriter Lindsay Elzinga has written and recorded the official song of the Cowichan 2018 BC Summer Games. With a country-influenced sound, the song is about making the colours of your mind come to life.

"Writing this song was putting into words how I feel about this community, and how much the Cowichan Valley has done for me,” Elzinga explains. “I’m very lucky to have grown up here and I’m so grateful to be given the chance to give back."
