Sports Announced for Maple Ridge 2020 BC Summer Games 

 
 

The BC Games Society announced the 18 sports that will be part of the Maple Ridge 2020 BC Summer Games. All of the sports that were at the 2018 BC Summer Games will return for 2020 and include athletics, baseball, basketball (5 on 5 and 3X3), canoe/kayak, equestrian, golf, lacrosse (box and field), rowing, rugby, sailing, soccer, softball, swimming, synchronized swimming, towed water sports, triathlon, volleyball (indoor and beach) and wrestling. Up to 2840 athletes, 565 coaches, and 382 officials will gather for four days of celebration and competition, July 23-26, 2020.

“The BC Games are a unique opportunity to bring together many partners in a positive celebration of sport and community,” said Alison Noble, President and CEO of the BC Games Society. “We look forward to providing a Games experience that will inspire our young athletes to achieve success and build leadership skills both on and off the field of play.”

Olympian and Alumnus Justin Kripps named Team BC Captain

 
 

The 2019 Canada Winter Games will kick off in Red Deer in just under 100 days, and Team BC athletes are training hard to be ready for top performances.  Team BC is proud to announce Olympian, BC Games and Team BC alumnus, Justin Kripps, as Team BC's Honourary Captain for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Justin competed in athletics at the 2002 BC Summer Games and then the 2005 Canada Summer Games leading to a successful university athletic career at Simon Fraser University.  He then made the switch to bobsleigh and has made a major impact internationally capped with a gold medal at the 2018 Olympic Games.
