The BC Games Mentorship Program is a partnership between viaSport and the BC Games Society and is designed to help coaches enhance and develop their coaching skills in pursuit of higher levels of coaching certification.
Provincial Sport Organizations submit the applications. Once part of this self-directed program, the paired mentor and apprentice coaches develop their own way of working together. They then attend the BC Winter or BC Summer Games and gain valuable coaching and multi-sport Games experience. The program is open to male and female apprentices and male and female mentors. Up to ten apprentice-mentor pairs will be selected for each of the 2020 BC Winter and BC Summer Games. The program is flexible allowing mentors to support more than one apprentice. Eligibility, expectations, and benefits of the program can be found here.
The application process for the 2020 BC Summer Games is now open; the application process for the 2020 BC Winter Games is closed.
Further details including the guidelines and application can be found on the viaSport website.
