Easy to reach, Abbotsford is located 68 km east of Vancouver and 5 km from the US border. The TransCanada Hwy #1 connects the community west to east, and provides entry into the interior of BC and Alberta. A growing airport, serviced by several international airlines, makes the community accessible by both land and air.
The community takes pride in hosting hundreds of events every year. From local agricultural festivals, major concert acts and weekly farmer’s markets to a world renowned airshow, there is always something happening in Abbotsford! Home of the Abbotsford International Airshow, the city celebrates its agricultural roots as the “berry capital of Canada” in addition to being a committed sport host, having staged the 2004 BC Summer Games, the 2009 Special Olympics BC Summer Games, the 2006 Seniors Games, and the 2002 BC Disability Games.
